We are always looking for talented students and postdocs from a variety of backgrounds with an interest in using and developing cutting edge single molecule imaging technology to understand the physical mechanisms of cellular organization.
Undergraduate students please email Jan - include a CV indicating previous lab experience, list relevant classes you have taken, and state the number of hours per week you would be able to commit. For a productive experience you should plan to work on a project for at least 2 semesters. We are happy to support LASURI projects and Honors College Capstone thesis projects.
Graduate students please send your CV and contact Jan to arrange a meeting so we can discuss your interests and the research in the lab! We welcome students from a variety of backgrounds. Possible projects include biophysical modeling based on quantitative single molecule imaging, biochemical wetlab work to visualize biological structures, building optical systems, data crunching, ...
If you intend to apply to UIC for graduate school, consider the Physics or Biomedical Engineering programs. Physics has a Feb 15 deadlines (but apply by Dec 15 for fellowship consideration and potential fee waivers), BME has a Dec 15 deadline.
